Mode

Pronunciation: /moʊd/ Explain

The mode of a set is the element or elements that occur most frequently in that set. In the set {3, 4, 4, 5, 6, 6, 6, 7} the number 6 appears three times. This is more than any other number in the set, so the mode of the set is 6.

In the set {2, 3, 3, 4, 5, 7, 7} the numbers 3 and 7 each appear twice. No other numbers appear more times so the mode is 3 and 7.
